No Day But Today is a duo project by a singer Jun Izumi and guitarist Yuto Kanazawa.
They have been pushing the boundary of vocal and guitar duo covering artists and bands such as Pat Metheny Group, Maria Schneider Orchestra, Egberto Gismosti, Allan Holdsworth and Chick Corea using 7 string Brazilian guitar. The duo also released series of Studio Ghibli cover songs.
Jun Izumi is a singer from Osaka Japan, she studied at the City University of New York with Steve Wilson, Adam Cruz, and Carolyn Leonhart. Nominated as the finalist of Asakusa Jazz Competition. Jun also sung the title track of Allan Holdsworth tribute album "Above and Below" released by Art of Life records along with Camila Meza and David Blamires from Pat Metheny Group. She quoted the project title No Day But Today from her favorite musical Rent to express the importance of living in the moment.
Yuto Kanazawa is a Japanese jazz guitarist, composer, and producer based in NYC, originally from Tokyo and Fukushima. After studying at Koyo Conservatory Kobe and Berklee College of Music, he formed numerous jazz projects, producing over 10 albums and winning the International Songwriting Competition in Jazz. He has collaborated with many renowned musicians including Grammy winning singer Kurt Elling and performed at top NYC venues. During the pandemic, Yuto gained over 2 million Spotify streams and grew his Instagram following to 90k by sharing solo guitar and lesson videos.
